1925Meher Baba – Indian mystic and spiritual master who declared publicly in 1954 that he was the Avatar of the age –  begins his silence of 44 years. His followers observe Silence Day on this date in commemoration. And if you’re wondering how he declared anything while maintaining silence,   he did it “by means of an alphabet board or by unique hand gestures.
